École EPCC
Starting in 2002, art schools were transformed through a reform process integrating them to the European higher education plan. By making their specificities and research fields more apparent in the teaching world, they now play an important role in artistic education in relation with other universities and art colleges.
Since 2010, most regional public art schools take the form of Etablissements publics de coopération culturelle (EPCC, Public Institution for Cultural Cooperation).
This new status grants art schools the right to deliver national-level diplomas equivalent to Licence (Bachelor degree) and Master, following the European higher education system.
